Why a six-year-old roof needed restoring
Florida Coating Pros restored the roof of the City Beverage building in Orlando prior to the installation of 180,000 square feet of solar panels.
The TPO roof system was only six years old, but it needed a restoration coating before the solar panels could be installed. That sequence matters more than it first appears: once a solar array is fastened down, the roof beneath it is effectively inaccessible. Any remedial work afterwards means dismantling and re-installing the array.
Restoring first resets the roof's service life so it comfortably outlasts the equipment standing on it, and it is the cheapest time in the roof's life to do the work.
The result
A sealed, reflective membrane across the full roof area, ready to carry a 180,000 sq ft solar installation — and a reflective surface underneath the array that keeps rooftop temperatures down.
